Fortification is the addition of key vitamins and minerals such as Iron, Iodine, Zinc, Vitamins A & D etc to staple foods to address the nutritional deficit. Micronutrient malnutrition, also known as hidden hunger threatens the health of millions of people in our country. Unhealthy food habits, Unavailability of nutritious food, economic status etc may cause micronutrient deficiencies in the body. One of the strategies to combat this problem is fortification of food.
